Mark Sutherberry, Manufacturing Technology Centre, Liverpool
The Manufacturing Technology Centre was established in 2010 as an independent research and technology organisation with the objective of bridging the gap between academic research and industry. It represents one of the largest public sector investments in British manufacturing and has supported the growth of thousands of manufacturing businesses.
Mark Sutherberry is the Manufacturing Technology Centre's Business Development Manager for the North West of England and is based in their facility in Liverpool. He has 18 years experience supporting small and medium sized manufacturing businesses with guidance and advice from continuous improvement to adoption of new technologies. He is also a STEM ambassador and Enterprise Advisor for schools and a school governor focused on encouraging pupils and young people to consider advanced manufacturing career options.
Mark's work focuses on inspiring companies to look at the suitability of new technologies in their processes, particularly digitisation, Industry 4.0 , robotics and automation. His presentation will give examples of digitalisation processes he has supported British manufacturers to adopt and which could also be replicated by Irish businesses
